Kurt Mather writes science fiction and fantasy with a taste for the foreboding. His stories are populated by people who believe, too late, that they are the heroes of them.

He is the author of The Ravenous Trilogy — The Rise of Ravenous, The Atonement of Marlen, and The Final Transformation of Aethon — a three-volume dark fantasy about an ancient hunger and the kingdom that woke it.

His standalone work moves closer to the present. The World Machinations is a slow-burning political drama set in a modern, dystopian Britain. The Consultant is a contemporary thriller about a man who fixes companies by removing the people inside them.

He writes from somewhere in the north of England, in a house that catches the wind, with a single leopard-rosetted Bengal for company.
